A big thank you goes out to the Landscaping Crew at Harbour Pacific!

Harbour Pacific has some of the best-landscaped grounds in Sunset Beach and Huntington Beach. We are lucky to have our own full-time landscaping crew. Their attention to detail and consistent care show throughout the complex. They deserve all of our appreciation and respect. Thank you to Daniel, Moises, & Marcelino for your hard work!

The Landscape Committee & Crew

The Landscape Committee & Crew takes pride in the trees and plants around HP and constantly look for ways to improve our surroundings. The Committee is careful to engage certified arborists to take care of our trees and trim them every fall. The current arborists offer other services, too, such as landscape design, pest control, and cost/feasibility recommendations.

Over the last ten years, Harbour Pacific has received suggestions to explore the benefits of removing the lush plants and replacing them with rocks, cacti, or other plants considered to be more drought-resistant. The Landscape Committee explored this suggestion with several landscaping companies over the years, and, without exception, all the professionals indicated that our current landscape has drought-tolerant plants and the benefits, if any, of re-landscaping would be extremely limited. In other words, there would be no positive return on investment for a landscape makeover.

Profile on PCH

Harbour Pacific’s lush landscaping is surrounded by tall palm trees, lending the complex a distinct and unmistakable profile along Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach.

A Short History Lesson

There are many residents at HP who remember watching the complex being built and bought their condos when they were new. Those of us who’ve lived here more than thirty-five years might recall our original landscape and site manager, Billie.

In 1972, when the complex was new, Billie managed a crew of approximately seven landscapers dedicated to planting, cultivating, and maintaining what was a clean, monochromatic palette of potential. Through their diligence, the drought-tolerant and cost-effective new plants grew into a beautifully landscaped blend of green trees and plants.

Harbour Pacific is lucky enough to still have one of the seven members of that original crew. Daniel worked alongside Billie for a couple of years before she moved on and since then, he and his crew have worked attentively to keep Harbour Pacific lush, beautiful, and cost-effective.
